Artifacts
Artifacts is a separate content panel that appears alongside Claude's chat response, used to hold something you'll actually use, edit, or revise back and forth — a document, a piece of code, a chart. It displays apart from the conversation, making it easy to view, download, or keep refining directly.

Chat vs Project
A regular chat is one you open and start talking in directly, with no special effort to preserve context for next time. A Claude Project is a container that holds related documents, instructions, and multiple conversations together, letting context carry over and accumulate across sessions. Neither is inherently better — they serve different purposes.

Claude Projects
A built-in workspace feature in Claude.ai that lets you create separate conversation environments for different tasks or clients. Each Project has its own System Prompt, knowledge base, and team-shareable settings — upgrading one-off Claude conversations into persistent, frameworked, collaborative work infrastructure.

Knowledge Base (Claude Projects)
A Claude Projects feature that lets you upload documents for Claude to reference across all conversations in that Project. Store your company overview, terminology guide, brand guidelines, or quality examples — and Claude automatically draws on that context for everything you ask, giving it 'long-term memory' specific to your work context.

Project Knowledge Priority
Project knowledge priority refers to how Claude decides which reference document to prioritize when a Claude Projects knowledge base contains multiple documents with conflicting content — it typically favors what you explicitly reference in the current conversation or what was uploaded most recently, rather than guessing which document is more 'authoritative.'
